ABOUT THE BOOK:
Amy Parker returns to her hometown for a two-week visit before moving on to take a job she really doesn’t want. But when the historic mansion that sparked her passion for history hits the market, she thinks she’s finally found a way to stay for good. With the help and support of family and friends, Amy sets out to make her lifelong dreams come true.
The tenth anniversary of the tragic death of Jake Grant’s best friend is fast approaching, and all he wants to do is create a charity to honor him. Too bad Jake has no idea what he’s doing. To make matters worse, the woman he holds responsible for his friend’s death is back in town, and she doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon.
Jake and Amy need each other’s help, so they forge a professional relationship to get what they both want—Amy has the skills necessary to complete the charity paperwork, and Jake can approach the mansion’s owner on her behalf. Professionalism quickly morphs into something more, though, and old feelings resurface. As they grow closer, a shocking revelation forces Jake and Amy to make sense of the past if they have any hope of a future together.
MY REVIEW:
Wow, all I can say is, this story gave me the feels all over! Keep the tissues close by as you are reading HER HOMETOWN DREAM by Rachelle Paige Campbell. She will have your emotions all over the place. Once I started reading, it was very hard to stop! The twists and turns made it impossible to put down, as I had to know what was going to happen to Jake after so much heartache! What an awesome story. All of Rachelle’s characters feel genuine and relatable and put your emotions on one heck of a roller coaster ride. As you are reading, you will find yourself cheering for all of them, praying they can work out their problems and be happy once again. You will also wonder how much heartache a person can stand before they completely break down and shatter.
HER HOMETOWN DREAM is all about the past and the secrets that come out are heart tugging. It had me wanting to renovate an old mansion and I know nothing about renovating, with each and every page. I had to know what was going to happen to Jake and Amy and all the secondary characters. Amy Parker returns to her hometown of Harmony for a two-week visit before moving on to take a job she doesn’t really want. When the historic mansion that has been abandoned for years and that started her passion for history is put up for sale, she thinks she’s finally found a way to stay in Harmony for good. With the help of her family and friends, Amy tries with all her might to make her lifelong dreams come true. Once you start reading, it will be very hard to put down!
HER HOMETOWN DREAM is such a heart warming story. I was instantly emotionally invested in all of the characters. Rachelle Paige Campbell really knows how to write about family drama. Jake really didn’t like Amy very much as he blamed her for his best friend’s death. When they see each other after many years, the tension level is high. I really hope there is a sequel! I have to know what happens to all the secondary characters! Harmony is such a cool little town. It is the small town everyone dreams about when they think “small town America”. I can not wait to read more by this wonderful and heart tugging author.

This sounds like a wonderful story, Susan. I think you should hire Bob Vila to renovate “This Old House”. I checked the author out, because I have never heard of her, and she has quite the backlist. I am definitely adding this book to my TBR shelf, it sounds like one I would definitely enjoy. Excellent review! 📚💖😮
