SUNDAY BOOKISH LOVE πŸ’œ

Good morning! I’ve got laundry to do today and I’m going to be packing up my books for the move at the end of the month. I also want to start planning my garden, I’ve never had one and I’m excited to get started. My youngest daughter is planning on a flower garden and I’m going to do a vegetable garden! Have a relaxing Sunday my friends and be well!πŸ’œβ˜•πŸ’œ

  1. The sun is out this morning but with cooler temperatures. Good luck with your packing for your move. I like your quotes this morning. I finished TAKEN TOO SOON by Eith Maxwell. I am reading The Thursday Murder Club by Richard
    Osman.

  2. We have several small flower gardens and a 12′ x 15′ raised bed garden. We use to raise a huge garden that we furnished 14 families with veggies as well as one year supplied the local Mexican restaurant enough tomatoes for their homemade salsa for 3 months. We are a lot older now and just concentrate on growing a few things we eat the most and enough to last us the year. Hubby loves nothing more but working the soil and says it’s relaxing. To me it’s work so I leave that part to him. My part comes in later with picking, putting up and cooking to eat which is my fun part. He has grown his own plants from seeds he harvests the year before to years so our expense isn’t that much too. Our flower gardens are smaller now too. When Mom lived with us with Alzheimer for 5 years, I wanted to grow enough to keep some of nature indoors as much as possible. I would pick a fresh batch about every other day during growing season putting the freshest closest to Mom and moving those starting to fade further back for another day or two. Now I enjoy just having them in the flower beds and enjoy watching and photographing the birds and bees that come to visit them. Plus it dresses up the yard and gives me a wonderful view while sitting on the porch.

Good luck with the garden! I know after you eat fresh from the garden you won’t want to buy store bought any more. πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you for sharing Kay! What great memories you have! We are finally going to have a front and back porch, with fansπŸ€— so I’m excited to get some rocking chairs and get out there!!πŸŒžπŸ’•

      1. I always say the best room in the house is on the porch! Our front porch goes across the whole front of the house with ceiling fans. We live out there when weather starts to warm up until it’s too cold to set out with a jacket. πŸ™‚
