The Midwife’s Christmas Surprise
Anna Zook was left behind shortly after Benjamin Miller declared his love for her. She gave up even trying to find someone to replace him. Anna lives with Elizabeth Miller and her family and is gradually taking over more and more of the practice. The family is also living with the pain of having one son leave, but Ben shows up and how he is received and tries to put his life together is a big part of this book.  Three years later he returns, but is she ready to forgive him?

A Christmas to Remember
When a small girl comes into Amos Stolzfus’ shop to steal a loaf of bread he follows her to the woman he thought sent her into the shop. Finding a young woman with no memory of who she is or why she and the little girl are even there he takes her home to his family to help her recuperate from a nasty accident.  After being lied to by a woman 5 years ago, Amos didn’t find it easy to trust, but after rescuing Polly and Linda from the harsh winter weather,  the one thing he isn’t expecting is falling for Linda.  This is a sweet romance with the conflict coming from not knowing whether Linda is free to fall in love.

I always enjoy reading stories of the Amish at Christmas. Perhaps it’s because their lives are so simple and their belief in Christmas is exactly what it should be. Anyway, these were two of the best Christmas stories I have read last year. I strongly recommend AMISH CHRISTMAS BLESSINGS to anyone who loves Amish stories as well as anyone who enjoys books about characters who struggle to overcome life’s greatest challenges.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
