Good Morning!
It’s the start of another week. It’s Monday! What are you Reading is hosted by Kathryn from Book Date, this is a weekly event to share what we’ve read in the past week and what we hope to read, plus whatever else comes to mind. I have four books to get caught up on so that’s what I’m doing this week!
Last weeks Reads:
I have a huge bunch of books started, but I didn’t finish a single one…….I am blaming Hallmark Christmas movies for this! My challenges are severely suffering because of this! I’m hoping to do better this week!😲
Current Reads:
Olivia Benton, happy with her downtown floral shop in Bryson City, her rural home shared with her father, and the lavish gardens sprawling behind their mountain property, is stunned when Warner Zachary drives back into town. No one ever thought Weird Warner, or his big dreams, would ever amount to anything, and even Olivia, who loved him, was afraid to risk everything to follow Warner’s dreams. Now he’s returned to Bryson City, famous and widowed, and as soon as Olivia sees him, she realizes she still loves him – a dilemma she is not prepared to deal with.
Warner Zachary, now better known as W.T. Zachary for his famous Geeky Gilmore books for kids, has avoided even visiting Bryson City since high school graduation ten years ago. Unhappy memories linger of being bullied in school and spurned by his childhood neighbor and sweetheart, Olivia Benton. After his wife’s murder, Warner heads home to spend time with family, old friends, and to take a well-needed vacation. He knows he’ll see Olivia again but expects time to have healed his broken heart – and his anger.
As the year draws to a close, the brand-new colony of Promise Lodge is thriving, a welcoming community that offers three Amish sisters a fresh start. And as Christmas approaches, gifts big and small are given with love . . .
As Promise Lodge’s first wedding arrives, the evidence of a community building a foundation for the future is a cause for celebration. But the bishop’s narrow-minded wedding sermon doesn’t sit well with the Bender sisters, the town’s courageous founders, especially widowed Mattie Schwartz. She believes marriage and family aren’t the most important of God’s gifts—even if she suspects her tender feelings for Preacher Amos Troyer run deeper than simple friendship.
Amos hasn’t given up hope that stubborn, spirited Mattie will change her mind about taking another husband, but when an accident threatens to change the course of his life forever, he wonders if the Lord has sent him a message. He’ll need faith, hope, and charity to find the right path—and a Christmas blessing to convince Mattie to walk it with him.
Reading next:
Eleven years ago, Lindsey Nash escaped into the night with her young daughter and left an abusive relationship. Her ex-husband, Andrew, was sent to jail and Lindsey started over with a new life.
Now, Lindsey is older and wiser, with her own business and a teenage daughter who needs her more than ever. When Andrew is finally released from prison, Lindsey believes she has cut all ties and left the past behind her. But she gets the sense that someone is watching her, tracking her every move. Her new boyfriend is threatened. Her home is invaded, and her daughter is shadowed. Lindsey is convinced it’s her ex-husband, even though he claims he’s a different person. But has he really changed? Is the one who wants her dead closer to home than she thought?
From the bestselling author of The Convenient Groom and A December Bride (now beloved Hallmark Original movies) comes the first novel in a brand-new series!
When their parents die in a tragic accident, Molly Bennett and her siblings pull together to fulfill their parents’ dream: turning their historic home back into an inn.
Adam Bradford (a.k.a. bestselling author Nathanial Grey) is a reclusive author with a bad case of writer’s block. Desperate for inspiration as his deadline approaches, he travels to a North Carolina lake town, the setting of his next novel. There he immediately meets his muse, a young innkeeper who fancies herself in love with his alter ego.
When Molly finds an old letter in the walls of her inn she embarks on a mission with Adam to find the star-crossed lovers and bring them the closure they deserve. But the guest she invites along has secrets of his own. Past and present collide as truths are revealed, and Molly and Adam will have to decide if love is worth trusting.
