    I’m featuring the SECOND line from Crystal Walton’s ‘Just Maybe’ on my blog this week (Carrie has the first line on Reading is my Superpower). But here, I’m going to share the first line from my current read: a speculative novel called ‘Day Moon’ by Brett Armstrong. Here’s the first line:

    “The drizzle tapped on the coffin with an increasing intensity.”

  2. I live just over 4-hours away from Detroit. I’ve visited (via passing by on the highway) once. It would be quite dark on the eastern side of MI if the lights ever went out. I look forward to reading your review. This sounds like an interesting book.

    I’m reading Heart’s Refuge by Cheryl Harper. The first two lines are:

    “Will Barnes straightened the pad of paper so the bottom was perfectly aligned with the edge of his desk. Next, he hit Play on his voice mail.”

  16. When I was a teenager, that was our standing joke about New Zealand …

    I’m reading The Engagement Plot by Krista Phillips. Here’s the first line:

    Hanna Knight clicked the Power button on the radio as she inched the Dodge Ram pickup down the snow-covered highway. Embarrass, Minnesota, was only a few miles farther.

    Okay, so I had to include that second sentence because Embarrass as a place name? That’s even weirder than Iola (which really is a place name: Iola, Wisconsin, and Iola, Kansas).
