Throwback Thursday meme is hosted by Renee@It’s Book Talk and is a way to share some of your old favourites as well as sharing books that you’re FINALLY getting around to reading that were published over a year ago. You know, the ones waiting patiently on your TBR list while you continue to pile more titles on top of them ! These older books are usually much easier than new releases to get a hold of at libraries and elsewhere. If you have your own Throwback Thursdayrecommendation feel free to jump on board, you’re welcome to use Renee’s pic as well. If you’d just link back to her @ It’s Book Talk she’d so appreciate it.
Libby Joseph is famous for her romantic Christmas stories. Every December, readers devour her books of falling in love against the magical backdrop of the Christmas season. If only Libby believed in the magic herself…
Struggling to finish her current novel, Libby turns to her best friend and neighbour George Donaldson to cheer her up. But George also needs a bit of support himself. Nervous about getting back into the dating saddle after splitting from his wife, he and Libby strike a deal. She will teach George how to win over the ladies, and Libby will in turn be inspired to inject her novel with a good dose of romance.
As Libby and George explore the beautiful White Cliff Bay on a series of romantic Christmas-themed dates, Libby finds herself having more fun than she’s had in ages and…discovers feelings that she never knew she had for George.
But is it too late? Will George win someone else’s heart or can Libby act like the heroine in one of her stories and reach for her own love under the mistletoe this Christmas?
Snuggle up with a piece of Christmas cake and mulled wine, and spend the festive season at White Cliff Bay. You won’t want to leave! Christmas at Lilac Cottage also out now.
It’s always refreshing when an author can make you giggle out loud and Holly Martin does just that with SNOWFLAKES ON SILVER COVE. She even had me snorting to the point where my husband looked at me like I was crazy. Holly Martin is quickly becoming my newest go to author. SNOWFLAKES ON SILVER COVE is book two in the White Cliff Bay series. Here you will meet Libby Joseph. She lives in the small community of White Cliff Bay and her best friend is George who lives next door and who has always loved Libby from a distance.
Libby wants to help George become confident enough to ask out their new neighbor. He is recently divorced and is afraid to get involved with anyone and have his heart broken again. They come up with a plan to have Libby be his guinea pig so he can practice getting back into dating. As they dates continue Libby finds herself falling for George, but thinks this must be crazy as he has no feelings for her more than being friends. Libby actually thought George was gay. Her reaction to finding out he isn’t is hysterical. Will one of them finally reveal to the other their true feelings? Will Libby leave town on the date she has set or can she be happy planting roots in White Cliff Bay?
Another couple trying to find their happily ever after are Amy and Seb. Seb is the owner of the local pub and Amy works for him. Five years ago Seb lost his wife, Marie and while he is ready to move on and try to love again, he feels guilty because Marie’s mother, Dorothy, is watching his every move. The situations that Amy gets herself involved in, while Dorothy is busy scrutinizing Amy behind her living room curtains, are laugh out loud funny. As you are reading their story, you will find yourself screaming at Dorothy to allow Seb to move on with his life.
SNOWFLAKE ON SILVER COVE is a magical, romantic story that you will finish in one sitting like I did. It’s a wonderful story that is sure to put you in the Christmas spirit no matter what time of year you read it. If you love a sweet and funny story of friends becoming lovers than do not skip SNOWFLAKES ON SILVER COVE. The first book in this series, CHRISTMAS IN LILAC COTTAGE has some of the same characters and gives you a different perspective on parts of this story. Both books in this series completely invested me in all of the characters lives, so much so that now I feel as if we are all friends, and I truly want to pack up the car and head to White Cliff Bay. I just love when an author can do that to me and Holly Martin does not disappoint.
