I am so excited! Today I was approved for this awesome title, AMISH GUYS DON’T CALL by Debby Dodds!! Will you just check out this cover??

Amish Guys Digital

Samantha is already facing scrutiny and anxiety at the start of her junior year, as she’s finally been accepted into the popular girls’ clique called “The Sherpas.” But when she realizes that her new boyfriend Zach was raised Amish, Sam must tackle a whole new set of challenges! Zach has chosen not to end his Rumspringa, instigating a potential shunning from his family. Not only that, but Sam’s new friends can’t miss this opportunity to tease and torment her.

Sam has never really come to terms with her parents’ divorce, so when her world crashes down on her in the form of cyberbullying and Zach’s apparent return to the Amish community, she reverts to old, illegal habits. Does Sam even want friends like these? And, will her crossed-cultural love with Zach find a way?
It wasn’t like we’d seen them pull up in a horse and buggy or anything, but their Amish-ness was unmistakable.

Madison and I couldn’t help but stare at the group of teens in odd-fitting clothes shuffling into the movie theatre lobby. Huddled so close together, they moved almost like a single organism. A dead giveaway of their status as Plain Folks: the guys sported bowl haircuts, and the girls had hair hanging down past their armpits. One girl’s was pulled severely into two braids that hung almost to her elbows, without any sense of irony.

Standing in line at concessions, we watched them scurry by. Madison wiggled her eyebrows at me. “Look, even the Amish girls have boyfriends, Sam!” Madison nudged me a little, teasing. I smiled at her, stealing another glance at the backs of the Amish kids, because surreptitious subgroups of society have always intrigued me.

What do you think?  Doesn’t it sound so stinking cute and fun? I can’t wait to start reading!! Be on the lookout for my review in June!!
