The Cherished Quilt

THE CHERISHED QUILT is the third book in the Amish Heirloom series. Emily Fisher is the youngest daughter of Mattie and Leroy and the only one who doesn’t have a husband or boyfriend. She always puts everyone else’s needs before her own and that is why she has never had a serious relationship with anyone. When Chris comes from Ohio to Bird In Hand PA, he comes with lots of guilt. Emily tries her hardest to be a friend to Chris, but he keeps pushing her away. THE CHERISHED QUILT is filled with love, forgiveness, second chances, healing, and even some romance.

Chris left Ohio and came to his Uncles leather shop to try and move on with his life after the tragic death of his brother. Chris is filled with grief, anger, and guilt. Before he moved, his father told him it was his fault that his brother wasn’t with them anymore. His father is racked with guilt as well and blames it all on Chris. THE CHERISHED QUILT finds Emily slowly but surely getting Chris to open up to her and it starts to help him. He finally is able to sleep with out all the nightmares that leave him sobbing and his insomnia starts to go away.

Amy Clipston has created a wonderful series filled with beautiful families and characters. Her descriptions of each setting had me feeling as if I were right there in the Fisher kitchen giggling with the three sisters. THE CHERISHED QUILT was a quick read for me because I had a hard time putting it down once I started. I found myself cheering for Emily and hoping she could get Chris’ walls to come down. I love the way she never gave up on him no matter how hard he pushed her away. I’m excited to continue this series.
